090711 - Front wing

This weekend I had planned to blast the boot floor in a party tent outside the workshop, but I reconsidered and will have it done professionally. It would have been too dusty and sweaty, and with a poor result/time ratio. Instead I spent part of the weekend sorting through stuff to find small projects I can do during the weekday evenings, when I'm too tired after work to get welding or doing more serious work. I will try to focus on what is needed to get the car rolling, like brackets for the rear spring, but sometimes it's fun to finish less crucial things as well. Another project for another time is the left front wing, which needed some work to get to the "another time" stage. To be able to work on it during winter break the lower half has to be correctly aligned with the main part of the wing, and this can only be achieved with the body at hand and the door mounted. I welded the two pieces together after alignment to each other, the rear inner part and the door. Later, with the body in winter storage, I can prepare surfaces to be hidden and weld the pieces together without further need to align stuff.
