070719 - I think I have to replace some wiring

When I removed the cabling from the rear of the car there were a lot of cracking noises, which I supposed came from the rather tired textile cover. When I cut this of I realized the cracking was from melted cables, a frightening discovery. It may be the result of a short circuit when the cables for the number plate lights touched the boot floor during my test-drive, but oxide on the copper suggests it has been exposed since before this. Luckily only the red cables are affected, 4.5 meters of one-coloured cable is easy enough to come by.
